    Toss steak, chicken, peppers, onion, oil, chili powder, cumin, and salt in a large bowl.

    Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat. Sear the meat in two batches until the steak is browned and chicken reaches 165°F; transfer.

    Cook the peppers and onion in the skillet until charred but still crisp, 5 to 6 minutes, then return the meat.
