    Mix beef, pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, allspice, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and black pepper. Shape into 20 small meatballs.

    Brown the meatballs in 1 tablespoon butter in a wide skillet, turning until they reach 160°F, 8 to 10 minutes; transfer.

    Melt the remaining butter, whisk in flour for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in broth and cream. Simmer until lightly thickened.

    Return the meatballs to the gravy and serve with hot mashed potatoes and lingonberry preserves.
