    Mix chicken with yogurt, 1 teaspoon garam masala, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Arrange on a foil-lined sheet pan and broil until browned and 165°F, 10 to 12 minutes.

    Meanwhile, heat oil in a skillet. Cook onion for 6 minutes, then add garlic and remaining garam masala for 30 seconds.

    Add tomatoes and simmer for 8 minutes. Stir in cream and the cooked chicken; simmer for 3 minutes.
